Montana's guide covers every facility holding Montana state inmates, including state-run prisons and contracted facilities, so it is a good place to start whether your loved one is in Deer Lodge, Billings, or even the out-of-state contract facility in Mississippi. The guide lists each facility's address and phone number, and visiting always requires advance approval and scheduling.

At Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, visits must be scheduled online in advance, with one visit per week. Montana Women's Prison in Billings visits on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no regular visitation on the third Saturday of each month, which is reserved for Kids' Day. Riverside in Boulder, a sub-unit of the women's prison, visits on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:20 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., and mail and money for Riverside residents is processed through the women's prison in Billings.

Dawson County Correctional Facility in Glendive holds non-contact visits on Saturdays only, from 9:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–4:30 p.m. Before you travel, call the facility to confirm the current schedule.

Cell Secretary is a white-glove concierge service for incarcerated people and their families. If it can be done legally and ethically on the outside, we can usually do it for you.
