Oregon Department of Corrections: What Families Need to Know (2026)

If your loved one is in an Oregon facility, the first thing to know is that Oregon does not run on one statewide visiting schedule. Each facility sets its own days and sessions, which the Oregon Department of Corrections lists on its Visiting Hours pages, and minimum facilities generally visit on weekends. The guide also advises checking Visiting Alerts for cancellations before you set out, and it points families to the Friends and Family Handbook on the department's site.

The guide lists 12 facilities, with each one's address, phone number, and superintendent. Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, at (503) 570-6400, is the state's female facility, housing all of Oregon's women, and it also serves as statewide intake for men and women. Other facilities stretch from Portland and Salem to Pendleton, Baker City, Ontario, and Lakeview, so the guide is worth checking for the exact location and number of the facility you need.

Because there is no single schedule, the guide repeats one piece of advice for every facility: call ahead to confirm before traveling. For general questions, the department's central office in Salem can be reached at (503) 945-9090, or by email at doc.info@doc.oregon.gov.

The full guide, compiled in November 2026 from the Oregon Department of Corrections, gathers all of this in one place so families can plan with confidence.

Cell Secretary is a white-glove concierge service for incarcerated people and their families. If it can be done legally and ethically on the outside, we can usually do it for you.
